The Beautiful Tragedy
Excerpted from a diary entry -
Soon after getting married, she found out that her husband is a drunkard and that he is no good for her. Sadly, when she used to confront him about it, he would domestically abuse her. Anyway, he was domestically abusing her without any reason also. She went into depression 20 years ago and that too in India, where nobody knew what depression was. She was all alone in this grim world, nobody to talk to, she couldn’t confide in anyone about the pain and agony she was going through.
She had two daughters, but they were very small at the time to fathom all that. Now that they are adults after twenty long years, she unfolded the horrors and mental turmoil she went through and confided in her daughters. Imagine how strong she is, that she kept all the pain locked in her heart and still managed to smile through life. Her life is like a rock, the first substratum was ’grief’, the second substratum was ‘survival for her subsistence ’ and the third substratum is ‘joy’. The third substratum is the most important one because it’s her current state of life, she is living in this moment and because the third substratum is the best thing that’s ever happened to her after her children.
Her elder daughter is now independent, she is earning good money, enough for her own subsistence and is also unconditionally providing for her family. She is what we call a true feminist not some pseudo-feminism muck. She is content in her life. She is a girl who’s on fire, her flames are slowly but deeply burning her mother’s grief away, which was accumulating over the last twenty years. On the other hand, the younger one is like her moon, she is so pure that she radiates her hearty moonlight on her mother’s emotional wounds and scars, therefore healing them. That strong lady is finally getting what she deserved, what she yearned for silently and that is ‘Love’, just a four-letter word but is one of the strongest forces on this planet, it has the power to conquer anything and everything. Now you can call it a perfect love triangle-“the beautiful old lady and her two pretty children, the bond is now complete, the destiny has been fulfilled”.
As fate would have it, her younger daughter has a boyfriend, who treats her little dove with utmost grace, love and faith. The old lady sees in the boy what she never saw in her husband, the love she deserved and longed for, but seeing that her moon is getting what she sadly couldn’t, makes her even happier as a mother. She treats and accepts him like the son she never had and he treats her with pure love and admiration. He is like the sun, his sunshine gives her warmth and peace. The flower in her heart blooms with all their energies and auras combined together.
The circle is now complete, what started with grief, anger, resentment and melancholy is now ending with just one thing and that is ‘LOVE’. Makes me happy, makes my heart glow.
